Description of Levels

Beginner

Is designed to give a basic foundation for oral communication. Simple verb tenses, sentence order and practical vocabulary that you can use immediately are taught. We start with greetings, numbers, days of the week and who, where, what, when and how question forms.

Intermediate I

Builds on what is learned in Beginner classes. Vocabulary is expanded, past, future and reflexive tenses are learned. We aim for 80% student speaking in class.

Intermediate II

Starts where Intermediate I leaves off. By now you should be able to use past tense of irregular verbs and have sufficient vocabulary to ask for and understand information, use adjectives in descriptions and express opinions in simple forms. New learning includes imperfect, present perfect and past perfect tenses for use in conversation. Increasingly complex sentence structures are taught.

Intermediate III

Emphasizes the use of the “conditional” and “subjunctive” for use in conversation as well as other complex structures.

Advanced Conversation

Is for the student who needs to brush up on verb tenses, who wants to practice discussing newspaper articles or opinions. Students choose topics of interest.

4-week and 8-week courses

• $250 (materials included).
• $50 NON REFUNDABLE deposit/processing fee is required for enrollment and may be paid by check, cash or credit card. The remaining balance is due at the first session
• Transfers may occur prior to the 2nd class ONLY. NO REFUNDS.

Immersion Weekends

• $175 (including materials)

Private/Semi-Private Lessons

• May be scheduled at any time
• Lessons are two hours in length, a minimum of four classes is requested
• A 24-hour cancellation/rescheduling notice is required
